CIVITECTS PC is a full service architectural, planning, and landscape design firm. Established as Abacus Architects & Planners in Boston in 1989, the firm opened a second office in Wareham, MA in 1994 under the oversight of Helen Sittler, AIA, MLA, LEED AP and Jane Gleason, AIA, LEED AP. In 2002, the Wareham office established a separate identity as CIVITAS Architects & Planners and subsequently Civitects PC, providing new structure for growth within the Wareham office. Civitects aims at disciplined and creative problem solving, comprehensive project management, and emphasis on clear communication to facilitate its projects. The principals believe that design, sensitively conceived and rigorously executed, must be the basis for each project. The firm is experienced in the complexities of municipal projects and the specific requirements of administering public bidding procedures in renovation, restoration, and new construction projects. Planning work with communities and community groups as well as landscape design continues to enrich the firm.
