There has been a synergy created at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Campus as a result of our Campus Plan. There is an improved sense of organization to the buildings, drives, and parking with the insertion of new, visually consistent architectural and landscaping elements that reinforce the orientation of the campus and the curriculum to the water. Pavilions, ornamental fencing and architecturally detailed stone piers delineate the entrance to Academy Drive and draw attention to the historic Copeland Building at the intersection of Buzzards Bay and the Cape Cod Canal. As the Academy’s “House Doctor” architects, CIVITECTS refers to the vision of the Campus Plan as a guide for continuing design work on a variety of projects on the campus.
